Plot
The protagonists of the said title are Raj, Amu, and Ist. Each has their own constant companion: a flying creature with unique abilities. When strangers literally fell from the skies into the world of Fillujah, the protagonists decided to learn the secret behind their visit. The story is presented with conversations with encountered characters as well as via cutscenes in the form known from the visual novel genre. What’s interesting, despite the knowledge of the previous installments of the series being optional, the franchise’s fans will recognize familiar faces in the production. The game offers multiple endings that are dependent on the player’s actions.
Mechanics
The gameplay of Summon Night 6: Lost Borders for PS4 and PSV is based on two pillars. The first one is exploration of the environment that lets the player experience the game world and encounter new characters that can be talked to and accepted quests from. The second important element of the title is combat. Battles take place in turns within a three-dimensional environment which makes them more spectacular, while the players can apply advanced tactics. The enhanced possibilities of attacking the opponent include such elements as Summon Burst which is a special attack that makes two heroes combine their offensive spells together to deal significantly more damage to the enemy. Moreover, the production features various minigames, for example: cooking meals or fishing.
Technical aspects
The game brings anime movies to mind and thus can be liked not only by the fans of the series but also by players who aren’t familiar with the previous products of the franchise. The title supports the cross-save feature, so a playthrough started on a home console can be continued on a handheld device.
