Simulator of the famous Soviet fighter Su-27, in which the emphasis is on realism and purely simulation aspect. The game does not take us into the reality of any air conflict, allowing for free training and flight over the territory of the Crimean Peninsula.

Su-27 Flanker is a flight simulator of the famous Soviet fighter Su-27, which at the time of the release of the game was the basic equipment of air forces such as Russia and China. Designed by the Russian studio Eagle Dynamics, the production company SSI, known to players mainly for its excellent strategy of Panzer General.

The single-seater hunting aircraft Su-27 has been in series production since 1982. Work on it began as early as the 1970s, and the machine was also known under the prototype name T-10. The fighter was supposed to be a Russian response to the American project F-15 Eagle, and its parameters similar to those of a competitor. In the game SSI, promoted by the name of the famous Russian oblative Anatoly Kvetchur, we have the opportunity to test in practice all the advantages and disadvantages of Su-27.

Unlike most computer simulators, Su-27 Flanker does not throw us into the middle of a fierce war in the sky, emphasizing the purely simulation aspect and pilot training. In this respect, the production of Eagle Dynamics slightly resembles the Flight Simulator series, transferred on board a military aircraft. In the game we can fly over the Crimean Peninsula, taking part in missions prepared by the authors or defined independently.

In terms of realism, Su-27 Flanker climbs to heights. Despite a slightly simplified flight model, all onboard systems, overloads and avionics handling were reproduced with 100% accuracy. The whole is complemented by high quality SVGA vector graphics in 256 colours. Despite the lack of music, the high quality sound recorded in a real plane is also impressive.
