Capcom Fighting Collection
The second part of the Street Fighter Alpha sub-series, which is another installment of the best-selling series of 2D fighting games, developed by Capcom. Like most of the previous games in the series, the title debuted first on arcade machines and then was released on various home consoles like PlayStation, SEGA Saturn and SNES. The PC version appeared on the market with a two-year delay.
In Street Fighter Alpha 2, the characters known from the previous installment of the series return. However, there are some new heroes, such as teenage warrior Sakura and a gang member named Rolento, known from Final Fight. We can also play as Dhalsim, Zangief and the master kung-fu Gen, who originally appeared in the first installment.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, Street Fighter Alpha 2 brings with it a few important changes, although most of the techniques available in the original, such as three-level Super-Combo, Alpha Counters, Air Blocking and Fall Breaking have been preserved. The main novelty is the Custom Combo system, which replaced Chain Combo from Street Fighter Alpha Chain Combo. It can be activated at the first or higher level of the Super Combo counter and allows you to perform any combination of attacks defined by the player before the time limit expires. It is worth noting that some of the characters (Guy and Gen) have retained the ability to perform Chain Combo, although to a somewhat limited extent.
Game modes
As in the first Street Fighter Alpha, single-player mode consists of eight duels with demanding computer opponents. The competition ends with a fight against the final boss, whose identity depends on the controlled hero. Each character also has his or her "secret rival", who can face them under strict conditions. We can also compete with another player on the same screen.
Technical aspects
In terms of graphics, Street Fighter Alpha 2 is no different from its predecessor.
