Stonewall Penitentiary

Stonewall Penitentiary is an adventure game developed by Christopher M. Brendel, the creator of titles like Lifestream and Shady Brook.

Plot

In Stonewall Penitentiary the players assume the role of William Thane, a 27-year old man who’s life wasn’t recently too good – his wife left him and he was fired from work. That was only the beginning of his problems. One day, William wakes up in an unknown place. The last thing he remembers is how he went to sleep in his own bed. He quickly discovers that he is in a prison, his clothes are gone and his hands are tied. William has no idea how did it come to that.

Soon it is revealed that the protagonist isn’t alone. Six other people are also locked in the abandoned prison. Jessie Bartlett is a 16-year-old student who lacks ambition and has no self-esteem. Louis Algar is an actor, a “star” of B-class movies with a giant ego. Sonny Peyton is a web designer and technology geek. Grayson Wilford is a cruel businessman. Gerard Auberon is a regular guy, a prison guard and a husband of three kids, and Becca Ronni is a 28-year old lawyer who is merciless both in court and in her private life.

Whoever imprisoned the seven people is a killer psychopath. The players must quickly find an escape path from the prison or they will die. However, there is one more problem – the psychopathic killer is… one of the people in the prison.

Mechanics

In addition to an interesting plot, Stonewall Penitentiary features a horror-like atmosphere and all things that a classic adventure game should have: sudden plot twists and intriguing riddles. The game features many terrifying scenes, dark music, and a few endings.
