Steampunk Tower is a tower defense strategy. Our task is to defend the tower against military attacks. In order to do this, we use its balconies to build an automatic security cannon and improve the technology.

Steampunk Tower is a tower defense strategy game. It was developed by DreamGate Studios and is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.

Plot

Like most titles of this type, the game doesn't put much focus on the story. The action takes place in an unspecified fantasy universe, full of futuristic technologies powered by steam engines. The main character is an eccentric nobleman known as Lord Bingham, who owns a number of mines extracting Etherium, a mineral serving as the main fuel for the engines. Unfortunately, the great Empire is preparing for another war and it decides to confiscate the mines. Our task is to organize their defense.

Mechanics

While playing, the central point of the screen is occupied by the titular tower standing above the entrance to the mine. Hostile armies attack us from both sides. Among the enemy units, we can find ordinary soldiers and military equipment, as well as big mechs and other mechanical beasts. The player must repel their offensives by placing defense systems on the tower like, for example, various types of automatic cannon.

Steampunk Tower has a 20+ mission long single-player campaign and seven individual battles based on specific challenges. Victories grant us access to better equipment.

What makes the game unique is the option to move each turret freely between locations. The vast majority of levels force you to do this very often because inaction quickly ends in failure. This increases the game's interactivity - there aren't many moments where we simply watch our buildings destroy enemy units without any problem.
