An economic strategy game in which we play the role of a transport company manager. As the title suggests, our task in Steam: Rails to Riches is to acquire the titular riches; to do this, we need to build rail connections, improve our steam engines, and select the most profitable routes and goods.

Steam: Rails to Riches is an economic strategy game developed by the Polish Acram Digital studio. The production appeared on the PC, AND and iOS platforms and is an adaptation of a board game under the same title, which was created by Martin Wallace.

Mechanics

In Steam: Rails to Riches the player takes on the role of the manager of a railway transport company; his task is to run the company in such a way as to eliminate the competition and acquire the titular riches. During the game, which we play in a turn-based mode, we collect victory points - the scenario is won by the person who has the highest number of them at the end of the game.

Achieving this goal is not easy, because initially it requires incurring debts, which must be repaid later, of course; the funds obtained in this way are then used to build tracks to connect the cities and to improve our existing steam engines or purchase completely new models. By signing lucrative contracts and transporting various goods along the longest (and therefore most profitable) routes, we not only gain the upper hand against our foes but we also gradually begin to accumulate more and more wealth.
