Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power

In 1997, LucasArts succumbed to the trend of multiplayer gameplay with Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, in which for the first time players were able to participate in a network struggle between the cosmic rebel forces and the Empire. Despite the fact that multiplayer mode was refined to the smallest details, players lacked a new campaign to play single player. This gap was to be filled by the Balance of Power add-on, offering two campaigns for each side, consisting of 15 missions. The story tells the story of the fighting in the Airam sector between the imperial Avenger Squadron and the rebel Rogue Squadron.

Balance of Power reintroduces the possibility of piloting a B-Wing fighter. In addition, new flagships have arrived, such as the powerful imperial Super Star Destroyer. A total of 30 missions from two campaigns, eight additional single missions, and two one-for-one combat missions are available. All campaign missions can be used for online gameplay, allowing up to 4 people to play simultaneously over the Internet or up to 8 people on the local network.
