Star Wars: The Old Republic - Galactic Strongholds

Galactic Strongholds is the first of two extensions to the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic planned for 2014, and third one in general. As before, the BioWare studio was tasked with the creation of the add-on, and it was released by Electronic Arts. This free digital extension requires the installed original game.

The core of this expansion are the eponymous strongholds. The players were given the opportunity to acquire houses in different parts of the universe (starting with home planet of their faction), and then decorate their interiors in various ways. The developer ensured that there is diversity in the field of design, enabling the acquisition of new pieces of equipment through methods such as crafting, performing tasks, or participating in Flashpoints. There is also an exceptional scenery within the Legacy system. Interestingly, an indicator of prestige and ranking was introduced, which indicates which players can boast the most luxurious and magnificent strongholds. In addition, residences serve as storehouses for trophies acquired during expeditions as well as a meeting place with the other players.

The innovations introduced by Galactic Strongholds do not end there. The expansion introduces a new attraction for the guilds – being able to construct and place in space its own flagship. This powerful unit can serve guild members as a mobile office and place of meetings to plan joint activities. Unfortunately, the developers did not give the possibility of sending flagships into space battles.
