Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing is a rather unusual race, developed by one of LucasArts branches - Lucas Learning. This is not a typical racing game, but go-kart duels which are very popular on many different hardware platforms. It can be said that Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing in many respects resembles such productions as Mario Kart or Crash Nitro Kart. Behind the wheel of go-karts there are, in turn, funny-looking characters, taken from the film "Star Wars". These include Anakin, Yoda, Sebulba, Princess Amidal, Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, and Jar Jar Binks. This product is for PlayStation 2 owners only.
The choice of one of the above mentioned characters paradoxically plays a rather important role. Individual heroes sit behind the wheel of typical go-kart models, which differ in acceleration, maximum speed, general vehicle weight or even maneuverability. The player must skillfully choose his characters for the next races. A total of three main areas have been prepared. And they are: Naboo (swamps), Tatooine and Coruscant. Each area consists of three tracks. It is worth mentioning here that many routes are initially blocked. Only subsequent victories allow you to unlock them. The same applies to hidden characters. For example, by choosing Anakin, it is possible to unblock a darker version of this character, known, of course, to film fans.
As befits an arcade racer, we can collect various types of power-ups along the way. Some of them offer offensive activities. These are mostly new weapons. Some bonuses, on the other hand, provide better acceleration or temporary protection against attacks of other players. In addition, each of the playable characters has one special attack, which you can use during the race. This attack usually gives a very good chance to take the lead. It is therefore necessary to plan exactly when to use it. Visually the game presents itself unfortunately quite poorly. The environment is very poor. The animation of the go-karts themselves is not the best either. Star Wars Super Bombad Racing has a standard four-player multiplayer where the duels are played on a split screen.
