Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon is a simple shooter where we sit at the helm of the title fighter Millenium Falcon. This unit appeared for the first time in Star Wars: A New Hope, although it could also be seen in two consecutive episodes of the classic Star Wars trilogy. The presented shooter is very clearly modelled on the classic Star Wars series: Rebel Assault. It supports the fact that we move mainly along a strictly defined route, dealing almost exclusively with the elimination of the goals indicated by the game. These can be either enemy ships (e.g. Tie-Fighters) or individual pieces of larger cruisers. The development of this game is the responsibility of the company called Pocket Studios, which has also prepared such titles as LEGO Racers 2, or The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This game was created solely with the needs of a single player in mind. Unfortunately, there are no multiplayer modes.
The plot of this shooter plays a relatively important role, and this is due to the fact that subsequent missions are very clearly interlinked. Flight of the Falcon gives an opportunity to join the most interesting scenes from the fourth part of "Star Wars" or "New Hope". So we recall the story of Hana Solo and Chewbacci. As has already been said, the player can participate in many interesting battles, such as contributing to the destruction of the Death Star, which is well known to fans of "Star Wars". All missions are based on a very similar scheme. The player is therefore mainly involved in continuous fire. There are several types of weapons to choose from. In addition, in some missions you sit at the helm of some other fighters. Unfortunately, the game is relatively short, although there is a possibility to choose higher difficulty levels. There is also a not too complicated mini-game. Flight of the Falcon looks very good visually. The most beautifully animated is the title ship, which is observed from the perspective of a third person. The explosions accompanying successful actions were also carried out very well.
