Star Trek: Generations Description
Star Trek: Generations is another Microprose production set in the universe of the popular science fiction series. Given in the original genre mix, the game was based on the seventh full-length film Star Trek: Generations, which had its premiere in 1994 and was a kind of extension of the TV series' plot.
The story told in the game coincides to a large extent with the events known from the film and focuses on the pursuit of the crazy El-Aurian scientist Soran, survivor of Romulan's attack on the Federation's scientific observatory. In the game we join Captain Kirk and the famous Enterprise team to face Soran in 12 consecutive missions and prevent him from realizing his evil plans.
Microprose production is a combination of several game genres: strategy, adventure and FPP shooting. We will spend a large part of the game over the star maps, trying to predict the next Soran's movement and plan appropriate preventive actions. Then we go on a mission, during which we take control of one of the crew members. The action switches to the FPP view, and our task is to find and stand eye to eye with a crazy scientist, solving a series of various riddles along the way. Additionally, during its journey, Enterprise can get involved in a direct battle with some enemy ships. The game then switches to a tactical view, which is a simplified version of the model used in the previous game Microprose - Star Trek: The Next Generation - A Final Unity.
As befits a game created on the basis of a movie, at Star Trek: Generations we will see a whole series of video sequences, during which we will see and hear the actors known from the screen: The following people were also involved: William Shatner, Patrick Stewart and Malcolm McDowell. An unquestionable attraction for fans are the new worlds, themes and film scenes not used in the cinematic version of the picture.
