Game mechanics

In Spirit of the Island we observe the action from top-down view. Game offers us a vast world, which is made up of 14 different islands. We start the game on one of these pieces of land and at the beginning our main goal should be getting food and gathering basic materials needed to build our first home. Then there's nothing left for us but to move forward, get to know the inhabitants of the island (and perform tasks for them and establish relationships with them, and even romance), and above all - develop in different directions. As we progress, we can gain and improve various useful skills, such as farming (which allows to cultivate the land and run our own farm), extraction (which allows to gain various raw materials), manufacturing (necessary to use the crafting system) or even fishing (which is presented in the form of a simple mini-game).

Working on yourself is not the only challenge that awaits you here. Although the archipelago's great days are gone and its tourist crowds are just a memory, we can (and even should) restore its former glory. By creating a variety of items that will work great as souvenirs, as well as by building stores, museums and other useful objects, we will gradually attract more and more experience-hungry travelers. The more of the latter, the greater are not only our profits, but also the chances that one of them will find his place on earth and decide to stay here and join the local community. Resources gained in the course of the progress we can use for further development of the island or to finance expeditions to other parts of the land. On each of them new attractions are waiting for us, secrets to discover and places that may appeal to tourists. Our stay in the paradise archipelago is varied by various events, such as birthdays of certain characters, holidays and events that we organize ourselves.

Game modes

Spirit of the Island allows you to play both solo and in online co-op mode.

Technical aspects

The colorful graphics of Spirit of the Island is in low poly style. Although its individual elements are made of quite a small number of polygons, the whole game looks very pleasing to the eye.
