Spikeout: Battle Street belongs to the genre of so-called walking brawlers and is a console conversion of the game from slot machines of the same name. The program offers, above all, fast, uncompromising entertainment and a comprehensive multiplayer mode.

Welcome to the biggest fistfight ever to hit Xbox Live! Spikeout: Battle Street takes up to 16 players at once, puts them in a massive 3D cityscape and has them beat each other to a bloody pulp.

An old turf war between two rival gangs - Team Spike and Team Inferno - has erupted again, 10 years after the blood dried on their first encounter. Spike Jr, leader of Team Spike, has decided to mete out a bit of hurt to his father's nemesis, Mike, who still heads up Team Inferno.

A vast destructible 3D landscape, Xbox Live, voice chat, a huge range of downloadable extras and a raft of different characters all itching to put the boot in - it looks like the brawler the Xbox has been waiting for.

• Xbox Live and system-link play for co-operative and competitive gameplay with voice chat using Xbox Communicators.
