SpiderHeck is a crazy brawler with physics-based platform game elements. It was developed by indie studio Neverjam, and was released by tinyBuild.
Game mechanics
SpiderHeck is a side-scroller. We take on the role of spiders, who fight a fierce battle to the death. Armed with laser swords (which look like lightsabers from Star Wars), grenades and rocket launchers, the arthropods fight each other or cooperate by eliminating the enemies attacking them. As we progress, we gain various perks that increase our combat potential.
Battles take place in arenas full of vertically and horizontally aligned platforms, between which the spiders jump and on which they can move freely (regardless of direction; moving upside down is not a problem for them either). Although the controls are simple and intuitive, mastering all the moves requires practice, as mistakes are easy to make, and a misplaced jump can end up in a lava bath.
Game modes
SpiderHeck can be played solo or in multiplayer mode (over the Internet or on a shared screen). The latter offers a co-op mode, where our task is to fend off successive waves of enemies, as well as a competitive-based module in which we duel to the death with other players.
Technical aspects
SpiderHeck features simple, two-dimensional graphics made in a colorful, neon style.
