The third installment in a series of jRPGs developed by Level 5 for Nintendo's 3DS hand-held console. The story is set in an American town of St. Peanutsburg, where the protagonist moves in with his parents. It soon turns out that the place is inhabited by yokai, the friendly creatures from the previous installments, and the main character is the only one who can see them.

Turf Wars is a non-self-reliant addition to the Spider-Man game, developed by the authors of the original - Insomniac Games studio. The extension is the second chapter (after The Heist) of a three-part campaign entitled The City That Never Sleeps.

Story

The main antagonist in the Spider-Man: Turf Wars is a Hammerhead, which, although it has no superpowers, has a metal skull, allowing it to charge enemies or break through walls without any damage to its health. He pronounced war on the remaining idols of Maggia, a criminal organisation whose structures are modelled on the real mafia. Man Spider and Yuri Watanabe therefore decide to join forces to put an end to the wave of violence that has spilled over the streets of New York.

Mechanics

Like The Heist, Turf Wars brings new role-playing missions, crimes, enemy bases and challenges to Spider-Man. In addition, the creators give players three new costumes, namely the classic Iron Spider Armor, Spider-Armor MK I and Spider-Clan Suit (from Marvel Mangaverse comics). There are also new trophies waiting to be won.
