Spellarena is a browser-based MMO strategy with elements of cRPG, which has been developed since 2004. The development of the game was undertaken by the development team of Revolver Interactive interactive agency, known for its smartphone BeastWorld.
Spellaren's action takes place in a fantastic universe destroyed by a cataclysm. The only place that has not been catastrophic is the dark Underdark, where most of the intelligent races have taken refuge. An old legend has it that whoever finds and possesses the power of a powerful artifact called the Black Heart will gain power over this world.
Players play the roles of powerful mages and their task is to duel with rivals (other participants of the game or computer artificial intelligence), which allows them to gain the experience and gold necessary to increase their potential in the game.
The most important element of the game are turn-based fights. The clashes, lasting about 15 minutes, resemble chess parts. Each participant has a team consisting of several hand-selected types of units (e.g. elf, magician, dwarf) with different psycho-physical attributes and skills. The result is determined by the ability to plan, as well as the appropriate use of the strengths of your unit and the weaknesses of your opponent. Money earned as a reward for defeating the enemy can be used to buy new units or treat the wounded.
As befits the MMO production, Spellarena offers a number of social functions. Each player has his own profile in the game, is listed in the online ranking, and can also communicate with other participants of the game.
NOTE: The game is distributed on a free-to-play basis. This means that you can play Spellarena for free, but some items and facilities are offered through a built-in microtransaction system.
