An adventure action game that tells the story of a pilot of a spaceship. It is a debut game of the studio Vibrant Core and it was created for the virtual reality technology. The story of Space Rift – Episode 1 takes place in the future, where the humanity was forced to leave Earth and colonize Mars. The main protagonist of the game is one of the employees of a greedy corporation that controls the society. He is wrongly accused of treason.

Plot
The Earth had greatly changed. A destructive meteor rain forced the humanity to escape to Mars. Peoples’ life on Mars isn’t easy since they are under constant control of WEYSS and PANDORA evil corporations. Casey Black, the main protagonist of the game, is at first working for the corporations. Due to a computer error he is considered as traitor and his only chance for surviving is joining the rebels from the Anoxia station. Black quickly discovers that the rebel group is working on S.E.E.D. – a mysterious project of creating a device that is meant to save humanity. The player is tasked with supporting the rebels by gathering valuable minerals and protecting them from hostile PANDORA drones.
Space Rift – Episode 1 for PC is only the first part of a large story that will be expanded in the further games developed by Vibrant Core.
Mechanics
The gameplay mechanics of Space Rift – Episode 1 for PC are focused on utilizing the virtual reality technology. It can be mostly seen in the cockpit of the controlled ship which isn’t just a nicely looking background. The screens and the buttons found inside have their purpose and are required for controlling the spaceship. The story of the game is important aspect of the title – it tells an interesting science-fiction tale that is presented in the form of cutscenes. The developers focused especially on the characters that are voiced by professional actors.
As the player progresses through the game, the protagonist can increase the variety of weapons of his ship in order to face various opponents. Gathered resources allow buying new upgrades and adapt the vehicle to one’s play style. Space Rift – Episode 1 has climatic locations with unordinary atmosphere and music.
