Soul Calibur II HD Online is a remake of one of the highest-rated fighting games in history, which had its premiere in 2002 on arcade machines, and a year later it was converted to PlayStation 2, XBOX and Nintendo GameCube consoles. The Project Soul team participated in the remastering process.

Plot

The Soul Calibur franchise is one of the most successful when it comes to console fighting games. It tells the story of struggles of warriors seeking fame and honor, competing to death and life for the titular artifact - a blade of great power, giving its owner eternal youth. This game seriously undermined the position of the former leader, which was Tekken. Later parts of the series, released on the next-generation consoles, introduced a lot of gameplay changes, not quite well received by fans. That is why the second part of Soul Calibur remains the highest-rated in history.

Game modes

Soul Calibur II HD Online is based on the Sony remake console version. The game offers all of the original gameplay modes such as Practice, Arcade, Survival, VS Battle, Team Battle, Time Attack and the story-driven Weapon Master. We also receive a full character roster included in the console version.

Technical aspects

As you can easily guess, the two most important changes introduced by Soul Calibur II HD Online are refreshed HD resolution graphics, adapted to the capabilities of the seventh generation consoles, and a completely new game mode, allowing for online battles. Another important element is the improved smoothness of the animations, which was a problem in the original 2003 edition.
