Solstice Description
Solstice is a visual novel adventure kept in the atmosphere of an investigative thriller. The production was prepared by a small MoaCube studio founded by Tomasz Grochowiak and Gracjana Zielinska. The developer has several other titles in his account, including the gameplay-like Cinders game and a small RPG Bonfire.
The creators of Solstice claim that this is a story about how a personal failure can turn into a great catastrophe. In the game we move to a fictional city lying in the middle of an ice desert, cut off from the rest of the world by raging storms. The village is inhabited by a small group of renegadees. One day the local archaeologist disappears, and the bored doctor on the contract and a young woman who has just arrived at the place decide to start an investigation. It soon turns out that the two heroes got entangled in a greater intrigue.
In Solstika we get to know the above story from the perspective of two completely different characters, who may have different goals and motivations. In this way, the authors tried to build a complicated intrigue with many twists and secrets to discover. The small town is full of complex, colourful characters, practically all of whom have some mysteries. It is therefore a game primarily for people who value interesting, multi-threaded stories. From the construction point of view Solstice is the so-called "visual novel", enriched with elements associated with other sub-genres of adventure games.
An unquestionable advantage of Solstice, apart from the extensive scenario, is the colorful graphic design, made almost entirely by hand. Studio MoaCube uses relatively simple animations, but can build atmospheric locations and characters. The whole is complemented by an appropriately selected soundtrack.
