SOL: Exodus Description
SOL: Exodus is the first downloadable, 3D space-action game that leverages the power of modern graphics technology to deliver epic space battles featuring enormous capital ships, hordes of spacecraft, and beautifully rendered planetary battlegrounds in an action-packed, cinematic presentation reminiscent of TV shows and movies. SOL’s aim is simple: to bring current-gen gamers the action space shooter they’ve craved since the days of Wing Commander and Freespace.
The game includes several singleplayer missions featuring intense action scenarios as players pilot a multi-purpose tactical fighter outfitted with a complement of weapons, battling enemy forces across the most recognizable landmarks in our Solar System. Players will join a splintered resistance group fighting for the survival of the human race, dogfighting around the rings of Saturn, defending a mining installation from attack on Pluto, rescuing disabled transport ships plummeting through Neptune’s atmosphere, and even engaging a massive “Space Temple” in a climactic battle around Titan. Each mission is an action-packed affair that puts players directly in the battle for the fate of humanity.
In addition to gameplay staples of the genre such as dogfighting, engaging giant capital ships, and protecting friendlies, players will also make use a unique hacking mechanic to breach the systems of massive warships, turning their weapons on each other, disabling their engines, or revealing their weak points, allowing them to be felled with your MAG cannon.
In the world of SOL, 500 years in the future, the Earth that we know and love has been ruined by centuries of war, neglect and abuse, and humanity has left it behind as they colonized the solar system. Their thirst for conflict, however, followed them. It was only once scientists realized the sun was dying that man finally learned to work together. And work together they did — to form the United Colonies of SOL (UCS) and its UCS-1 Mission; the last hope for mankind.
Featuring professional, fully voiced dialogue, the world and story of SOL is brought to life by a cast of compelling characters, including the player’s character, The Commander; your shipboard AI, the Central Automated Sol System Intelligence (CASSI); enigmatic religious icon Aric Corbin; the cruel and spiteful General T’Jien; and many others. As the storyline progresses, new allies are recruited and old scores are settled as The Commander vows to save mankind from both a dying sun and an insidious cult.
