Snailboy: Rise of Hermitron for iOS is a mobile platform game developed by Thoopid. It is a sequel to the well-received Snailboy: An Epic Adventure.
The Plot
We play as the titular snail, which ends up in an underwater world at the bottom of the ocean. That mysterious world, full of secrets, is on the verge of destruction, as evil crab Hermitron, aided by Harold the bureaucrat, prepares to take full control over it. Our job is to stop him and help the citizens of Coral Kingdom in bringing back peace and order.
Mechanics
Gameplay in Snailboy: Rise of Hermitron for iOS is presented from the side-scrolling perspective, and focuses on venturing through the game’s locations (there are 25 of them), jumping from one platform to another, and fighting with the ecnoutnered opponents. Our hero has some unusual abilities. He can not only jump, but also stick himself to the environmental elements (which allows him to climb walls) and shoot magic missles.
During our adventures we will face many various enemies, and power-ups, located all over the game’s maps, will help us defeat them, as they grant us temporary advantage on the battlefield. Additionally, our hero has various special abilities that we will unlock as we progress. Maps are filled with hidden secrets, and if we explore them very carefully, we will also find valuable treasures. The game has its own achievement system that rewards us with special badges.
Technical Aspects
Snailboy: Rise of Hermitron for iOS has high quality visuals. The free version of the game offers only five out of the 25 levels, we have to buy the game to fully unlock it.
