Mechanics
Smushi Come Home is a relaxing third-person game focused on exploration and solving environmental puzzles. The player explores various areas of the forest, solving the problems troubling their communities and unlocking new regions.
The gameplay revolves around finding and carrying objects while exploring extensive locations. Smushi can sprint, jump, and glide on a leaf, making him rather skilled at platforming. He's also great in the water, able to dive or cross lakes aboard a capybara. Overtime he gains access to new caps - some are purely cosmetic, others affect his skills.
Smushi Come Home doesn't feature combat or timed challenges, as the developers wanted to encourage exploration at the player's own pace. Those wishing to learn more about mushrooms can also read the in-game mycology journal.
