Smelted Kin: Inhuman Impact

Mechanics

The gameplay in Smelted Kin brings to mind concepts known from classic 2D shooters. We move with our character through platform-structured locations, and when we are attacked by an enemy, we use the mouse to indicate the direction of the attack. The protagonist shoots then a series of projectiles, flying slowly enough for us to see the exact flight path and the hit of each of them. The enemies also have their own energy level and can strengthen themselves in various ways, for example by placing a special energy shield. They also respond with fire, be it from rifles or rocket launchers.

The protagonist can move freely only in the underground complexes of the abandoned colony. On the surface of the planet weather conditions are extremely unfavourable for humans, so we have to move around in a special mech with a pseudo-human AI. We are much less mobile in it, but also more resistant to attacks and have a few additional methods of wreaking havoc among enemies, such as the ability to shoot ballistic missiles.

After completing the adventure once, you can start again in a new mode with changed gameplay rules and a higher difficulty.

Technical aspects

Just like the gameplay, the graphic design of the game also refers to older platform shooters, thanks to which the production has very low hardware requirements.
