Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island

Plot

The action is set on a group of tropical islands where a mad scientist, who looks like a living computer CRT screen, has his base. His laboratories are the place for military experiments that he hopes will help him conquer the world. One of his most promising projects is a genetically modified humanoid cat named Skylar. She has implanted cybernetic parts that make her a superweapon.

The campaign begins when Skylar revolts against her creator and escapes the laboratory. At the beginning, she only wants to survive, but soon she finds out that only turning off evil CRT will win her true freedom.

Mechanics

Released on PC, PS4 and XONE, Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is a classic, 3D platformer inspired by games published on PlayStation and Nintendo 64. During gameplay, you control Skylar from the third-person perspective and explore huge, open maps, and avoid traps. The title features an arcade combat system that enables you to fight enemies in both close combat and with the use of various ranged weapons.

Collecting items scattered around the world plays an important role. Some of them simply boost your score, while some grant useful bonuses. The latter primarily concern upgrades to the heroine’s cybernetic parts and enable you to unlock additional functions – e.g. the Magnetic Glove or the Jetpack.

Skylar has a sidekick, an owl named Plux who – controlled by AI – aids you in combat and helps with solving sporadic logic puzzles.
