Sky Force Anniversary Description
Sky Force Anniversary is the work of the independent Polish studio Infinite Dreams. The production is a remake of an extremely warmly-received game titled Sky Force, whose launch took place in 2004.
Mechanics
In Sky Force Anniversary, we sit at the helm of futuristic fighters and our task is to stop the sinister General Mantis from taking control of the world. The tasks set before us include the elimination of opponents, as well as rescuing defenceless civilians, while the battles take place in diverse and shimmering with a feast of colours landscapes.
The gameplay itself is based on the classic shoot'em up formula - the plane automatically flies up the screen and the player's role is limited to shooting down incoming opponents and manoeuvring between enemy missiles and terrain obstacles. On our way we can see not only various flying units, but also ground installations such as stationary towers, or not very mobile, although heavily-armed tanks. In addition, we often face bosses that require good reflexes and dexterity, as well as the development of effective tactics and powerful weapons.
The range of available weapons is extensive and includes guns and rocket launchers, as well as laser guns and bombs that wreak havoc in the ranks of the enemy. The ability to upgrade the arsenal and shields installed aboard the fighter also provides an advantage over the enemy.
Game modes
In addition to the single player mode, Sky Force Anniversary features a gameplay variant designed for two people to play together on one screen. The competition with other players is facilitated by weekly online tournaments, where you can face unique challenges.
Technical aspects
Sky Force Anniversary was released more than ten years after the launch of the original Sky Force. Compared to the original, the production boasts high quality, three-dimensional graphics, full of special effects flooding the screen. In addition, controls for the game were designed from scratch, as was the original music and all dialogue lines.
