Skullduggery, released on AND and iOS, is an unusual 2D platformer. The title was created by ClutchPlay Games, founded by former employees of 2K Games, Electronic Arts and Maxis. The developer had previously produced the logical Little Chomp.
Plot
In Skullduggery, we play the role of the Semi-Organic Autonomous Skull working for INFERNAL Revenue Service, which deals with collecting debts from dangerous Deadbeats inhabiting the nether world.
Mechanics
The gameplay doesn't copy the traditional platformers in which we go through the levels, jumping and solving simple puzzles. Our character is forced to fight often - we use a mechanic similar to that used in the Angry Birds series. We deal damage by stretching half of the brain in a manner similar to stretching the sling in Angry Birds. During this operation, time slows down, and a line appears on the screen showing the flight trajectory. After selecting a target (it must be done relatively quickly) we release the brain, thus firing the whole skull. This mechanic is used both in clashes with weaker enemies and large bosses.
This system also works well when moving, because playing Skullduggery is not only about fighting, but also about sneaking (you can hide in jars, crates and trash bins), or escaping from danger.
Game modes
In addition to the campaign for one player, there is also a multiplayer mode, in which we compete for points with other people. All this is complemented by a comic book design and a variety of unlockable items, including new playable skulls.
