Sine Requie: Anno XIII is a popular in Italy, boneless feature system developed by Leonardo Moretti and Matteo Cortini. The potential of mechanics and the universe of Sine Requie was noticed by developers from the Dreampainters studio, who undertook to create a computer adaptation.

Thirteen years have passed since allied soldiers landing on the beaches of Normandy came across zombies. The emergence of the undead wishing to devour all humanity has forever changed the image of Europe. Most of the inhabitants of the Old Continent died. Few survivors created new states - the Fourth Reich, the Holy Empire under Pope Leo XIV in Italy, the technocratic ZAR (Russia) and New Egypt.

The player plays the role of one of the inhabitants of Rome. He not only has to cope with the threat from zombies, but also unravel the intricate intrigue in which the most important personalities of the Holy Empire are involved.

The Dreampainters development team's priority was to remain faithful to the specific atmosphere of Sine Requie. This applies both to the dark story, in which the player often has to make difficult moral choices, as well as to the mechanics based on tarot cards.
