Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution 2

Civilization Revolution 2 for AND, iOS and WP brings a continuation to a spin-off installment of a classic turn-based strategy game series developed since the 1990s by Sid Meier and subsequent studios he has led. Contrary to the first installment of the subseries developed specifically for home consoles and hand-helds, Revolution 2 was originally released for mobile devices, thus it is not the case of a console port this time.

Mechanics

General gameplay formula developed by the Civilization series remains unchanged in Revolution 2 for AND, iOS and WP. In order to achieve global domination, the player chooses from among several nations available, such as the French or the Egyptians. The game begins in the ancient period and the player has little resources and few territories. Gaining power over the world requires expansion and building new towns, as well as gathering resources, developing technologies and recruiting armies. Sooner or later, development leads to encountering other civilizations – one can establish trade relations, negotiate alliances or declare wars for example. Victory can be achieved in several ways – it can be done through military conquest, but also technological, economic or cultural domination, etc.
