Shoot Many Robots is an old style side-scroll 2D arcade game by Demiurge studio in Boston. Players direct the actions of people who stand up to fight rebellious robots. The aim of the game is to exterminate as many enemies as possible using a variety of weapons - from pistols to chainsaws. In the cooperation mode, four people can participate in the struggle with robots.

Shoot Many Robots is the first independent project of Demiurge Studios founded in 2002. So far, the developers from Boston mostly created games for PC and made conversions for major publishers as well as aided other studios with their projects. Thus, the developer took part in creation of titles such as Borderlands, Mass Effect, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, or Titan Quest.

In the game you help humans fight against rebel robots. Gameplay mechanics are very simple and follow standards set by other titles of the kind. At first glance, the game resembles a typical platformer, however, the authors limited arcade sequences for the sake of greater number of skirmishes against overwhelming waves of enemies. The action is viewed in 2D perspective, and the characters consistently move towards the right. The main objective is to reach a high score while remaining alive for as long as possible. To this end you can use numerous weapons, including pistols, grenades, and chainsaws, used by different characters in combat. Up to four people can play simultaneously.
