Shelter 3 is the next installment in the series of unusual simulator games with survival elements. Players assume the role of a wild animal - this time it's an elephant. The game was created and published by Might and Delight studio.

Mechanics

The core of Shelter 3 remains unchanged. Again, the player is put in the role of an animal that tries to survive. After badger and lynx, it's the elephant's turn. In this installment, the gameplay mechanics have been modified.

In the previous installment, the players assumed the role of a female lynx, which tries to protect its cubs. This time around, the player becomes a part of an elephant herd. The sole importance of survival has shifted to taking care of social relations. It is important to interact with other specimens. It is the strength of the bond that determines the strength of this species. Being in such a large group significantly increases the defense against predators. On the other hand, it requires much larger quantities of food to be collected, which necessitates frequent migration.

In Shelter 3 the action is shown from the first-person perspective. Players get access to a large open map allowing them to explore the world freely.

Technical aspects

Shelter 3 has very distinctive visuals. It is inspired by vector graphics, which were popular in the 90s. The audio layer of the game was once again created by Retro Family, a group cooperating on other productions with Might and Delight studio.
