She Wants Me Dead for PC, PS4, etc. is a game developed by Hello There, a studio known from mobile games, including Kung Fury: Street Rage. The developers admit that it was created as a result of inspiration from a song by CAZZETTE of the same title. This is a two-dimensional platform game, whose aim is to complete levels full of traps as quickly as possible.

Plot

The protagonist of She Wants Me Dead is Max, owner of the cat called Lula. The owner is unintentionally bad, but accidentally making his pet more or less unpleasant - dropping Lula out of bed while sleeping, or splashing her with water while brushing his teeth. After one of these incidents, the cat decides to build deadly traps for her owner.

Mechanics

She Wants Me Dead is a two-dimensional platformer with multi-level stages, clearly inspired by such titles as Super Meat Boy or Rayman Legends. The similarity with the latter title is based on a close connection between the construction of a given level and the music, which determines its rhythm.

During the game, the player struggles not only with time, but also with the levels themselves, constructed in a way to ensure the greatest possible challenge. Among the traps, players have to face spikes, mines, swinging axes, or flames chasing the player. Nonetheless, not all elements of the environment are designed to make the game more difficult to play. In the course of the game, Max can encounter hoppers and checkpoints, thanks to which making a mistake will not force the player to start again. However, the player has a limit of five lives. We get points by reaching the end of a level - we can then exchange them for Max's humorous garments that don't provide any bonuses.

The controls are as simple as possible and are based on two buttons - one for running to the right and the other for jumping. The levels are designed in such a way that they have to be completed to the rhythm of the soundtrack, which are separate, looped fragments of the titular track of the band CAZZETTE. The whole is complemented by a minimalist, but coherent graphic design with dark and bloody style.
