Shantae: Risky's Revenge Director's Cut, released on PC, 3DS and WiiU, is an extended version of Shantae: Risky's Revenge with all bonus maps and levels. The game is a 2D action-adventure platformer developed by WayForward Technologies.

Plot

After many years, the land is finally at peace. Shantae and other relict hunters can finally rest and celebrate their success at the annual convention. One of the young warrior's friends has recently come into possession of a mysterious lamp and decided to present it during a meeting in order to discover its secret. Unfortunately, Risky Boots appears, leading a unit of ominous pirates, and steals an object. Shantae loses the fight, which results in her being released from the role of defender of the city. The main character, trying to regain her honor and treasure, sets off on a crazy journey after her rival.

Mechanics

Starting the right game, we quickly learn the basic activities - attacking, jumping and changing form. Shantae, as a representative of the half-djin race, can transform into, e.g. a monkey or an elephant. The heroine's ability to use her long hair is very important - it is not only used to attack enemies but also to interact with elements of the environment. In addition to numerous action- and dexterity-oriented sequences, the game also contains a number of logical puzzles that require proper coordination of actions and execution of activities in the right order.

Technical aspects

Shantae: Risky's Revenge Director's Cut offers improved graphics, portraits of characters in full HD and smoother animations. In addition to the classic campaign, players can also play the so-called "Magic Mode", which offers a bigger challenge.
