Another major installment of the mobile action game series developed by Madfinger Games, a Czech studio known for Dead Trigger, among other titles. The action of Shadowgun: Legends takes place in the future, and we assume the role of spec ops soldiers whose task is to save the galaxy from an alien invasion. Contrary to its predecessor, the game is a first-person shooter with RPG elements which isn’t very different from other mobile FPSs.

In 2011, Shadowgun, a third-person shooter that started the series of the same title, was released for mobile platforms. Shadowgun: Legends for AND and iOS is another product in the franchise. It was developed by the creators of the series—Madfinger Games, a Czech studio that created several other apps, such as Dead Trigger 2 and Monzo which is meant for enthusiasts of modeling.

Plot

The action takes place in the future. The world was invaded by aliens, and the players, assuming the role of the eponymous Shadowguns, spec ops soldiers, have to stop the invaders. While playing, we visit various places in the universe. What’s interesting, players’ actions leave a permanent trace, making the game world change in various ways.

Mechanics

Shadowgun: Legends for AND and iOS is a first-person shooter with RPG elements. The gameplay obviously involves fighting aliens and isn’t very different from other arcade FPSs. Starting out, we have poor weapons and equipment. With time, we complete subsequent missions and are awarded experience and funds that are essential to make improvements. The developers prepared a very extensive system of weapons and gadgets (counted in hundreds). Additionally, in our adventures, we can find or buy elements of armor that influence our abilities.

Game modes

The production is meant for both loners and multiplayer lovers. Players can perform quests alone but might as well invite their friends to play together and combat aliens jointly. The developers also implemented an anti-cheat system that makes cheaters’ life harder.

Technical aspects

Just like every Madfinger Games’ production, Shadowgun: Legends for AND and iOS features brilliant graphics. The developers applied a number of advanced effects like HDR bloom, new system of reflection rendering, and high-quality shadowing, among other things.
