Shadow of a Soul is a debut project of Turkish studio Vivec Entertainment. The creators wanted to divide the game into three parts, each of them presenting a separate story and providing from 12 to 16 hours of fun.

Plot

The protagonist of Shadow of a Soul: Chapter I is Jack, a thief specializing in industrial espionage in its broadest sense. He accepts a job in which he has to steal plans for a new product from a seemingly ordinary office complex. Soon, it turns out that this place is something entirely different. His ears detect strange noises and he sees various visions. What's more, some kind of force prevents him from leaving the building.

Mechanics

Events in the game are shown from the first-person perspective. In the course of the game, the player explores rooms and solves various kinds of puzzles, trying to get out of the ghastly trap.

Technical aspects

The graphics design of Shadow of a Soul: Chapter I has been kept in a minimalistic style. Three-dimensional graphics lack detail, but thanks to the use of various filters and lighting effects, they create an atmosphere of uncertainty. The atmosphere is enriched by sounds typical for horror productions.
