SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell is a fast-paced platform game, in which we observe the action from FPP. The game was developed by an independent Croatian team at Pine Studio, and its creators call it "the love child of Quake 3 and Super Meat Boy".
Plot
The main hero of SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell is Marty, who is attacked by a demon one day. After a long and fierce battle, the protagonist took the opponent's head, but lost his right arm. When the man discovered that in the meantime other creatures from hell had stolen the last case of his favorite beer, he decided to rip his tormentor's arm off and attach it to his shoulder, and then enter Lucifer's domain to retrieve his beloved beverage.
Mechanics
SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell consists of a hundred levels with countless traps and obstacles. Our task is to reach the end of each of them in one piece and in the shortest possible time. During the game we run forward, jump on platforms, bounce off the walls and avoid various dangers. In addition, we often use the protagonist's skills, who can shoot fireballs, reverse gravity and teleport over short distances. As the game is extremely dynamic, we have to display dexterity, reflexes and perceptiveness. Furthermore, for those who wish to do so, the game offer carefully hidden collectibles in the form of beer bottles.
Game modes
Although SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell offers single-player mode only, online rankings for each level provide a substitute for multiplayer competition, enabling us to compare our scores with those of other players. In addition, the game includes an easy-to-use editor that enables us to create our own stages and share them with the community.
Technical aspects
The three-dimensional graphics of SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell adopts a style reminiscent of classic FPSs, beginning with the aforementioned Quake III: Arena. The whole thing, though simple, presents decent quality. The fun is accompanied by a motivating heavy metal soundtrack.
