Serious Sam: The Random Encounter is a jRPG game created by Vlambeer studio. The plot was set in the universe of the Serious Sam series. The player directs the actions of the title character and his two faithful companions, who have to face hordes of monsters. The production is maintained in the style of games from the era of 8- and 16-bit computers.

Serious Sam: The Random Encounter is a Vlambeer studio project (Super Crate Box, Ridiculous Fishing) realized as part of an action announced by Croteam and Devolver Digital, whose aim was to support the publishing of the best independent games embedded in the universe of the Serious Sam series. Inspired by the adventures of the title character, the developers tempted themselves to produce jRPG.

Serious Sam: The Random Encounter focuses on the Mental killing plan. It turns out that despite the success of Sam's mission presented in Serious Sam: First Enconuter did not go as planned. So he decides to take another journey into the future to kill his arch-enemy. Unfortunately, the hero and two of his company fall into a trap set by Ugh-Zan. To get out of the oppression, the team of daredevils has to face hordes of monsters of different sizes.
