MotorStorm Video Game Series
A series of racing games thematically related to off-road racing. The series was created by the Evolution Studios team and Bigbig studio also has a part in its development. The intellectual property rights of the brand belong to Sony Computer Entertainment.
The first game in the series - MotorSport - was released in 2006 for the PlayStation 3 console. The title was very well received among critics and players, which also translated into sales results. This encouraged Sony to develop the series. In 2008, the game MotorStorm: Pacific Rift saw the light of day, which repeated the success of the original and established the brand's position. For the next full-fledged installment of the series, fans had to wait three years. The game MotorStorm: Apocalypse went on sale in 2011. Complementing the series are two spin-offs: MotorStorm: Arctic Edge (2009) in versions for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable consoles, and MotorStorm: RC (2012) for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
The basis of fun in the MotorStorm series games is wilderness racing. Players take on the roles of participants in MotorStorm Festival competitions, and their only goal is to complete the designated route before their competitors. The available range of vehicles includes rally cars, off-road cars, trucks, monster-trucks, muscle-cars and even motorcycles. Individual models differ not only in body design, but also in basic technical parameters such as acceleration, top speed and grip.
The gameplay emphasizes arcade elements. However, the advanced physics model takes into account a number of factors affecting vehicles moving through difficult terrain. The struggles are spectacular in nature due to the numerous obstacles around the tracks and spectacular collisions with other vehicles.
From the very beginning, the MotorStorm series is distinguished by its attractive visuals. The games are based on the constantly developed, proprietary MotorStorm Engine technology, which was designed with the technical capabilities of a specific hardware platform in mind.

MotorStorm is a production prepared by Evolution Studios (a bastion of World Rally Championship series creators), which deals with off-road races. This is the first production of this team dedicated to PlayStation 3. However, this title breaks with traditional rallying in favour of a fierce and competitive fight between different types of vehicles.
