Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit is a digital spin-off distribution-only series of Senran Kagura action titles. Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit (tit. org. Dekamori Senran Kagura) is a musical rhythm game in which the heroines participate in a cooking contest. Production is a spin-off of a series of arcade adventures called Senran Kagura. The first part of the series was released in 2011 on Nintendo 3DS and since then developers have been releasing it regularly on Nintendo and Sony consoles, as well as PCs. Senran Kagura is also a game-based comic book, TV series, radio plays, books and countless gadgets that have entered the Japanese market. It is under the care of the Japanese company MarvelousAQL.

Story

The heroines of Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit are ninja warriors known from the main series Senran Kagura. In the game you will find dozens of playable characters who take part in duels to choose the best cook. Each has its own fictional mode with visual novel interludes in which the protagonists interact with their opponents.

Mechanics

As in the fights, we participate in a series of "fights", in which we have to prepare the largest and most exquisite dish, which will satisfy the judge. Matches are divided into three phases; after each of them we are judged and the lost party loses elements of their wardrobe for punishment. The process of preparing dishes was presented in the form of a rhythmic-musical game. In our opinion, it is important to press the specific buttons whose symbols appear and move in the bar at the bottom of the screen at the right moment. During the game we can hear several dozen j-pop songs, some of which have vocal tracks, performed by actresses who give voice to particular characters.

Technical issues

The graphic design of the title was prepared on the basis of the original engine, which was created with the main page views of the series in mind. Therefore, it does not differ in quality from what we could see in them. The creators have also used three-dimensional character models and some animations already prepared.
