Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition Description
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is a remaster of the 2010 beat 'em up. The new version, just like the original one, was developed by an internal development studio of Ubisoft. According to the title, this is a complete edition, which means that it also offers the content of all add-ons, that is the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells expansions.
Plot
The remaster has exactly the same campaign as the original, so nothing has changed in terms of the plot. The game is based on the comic book series Scott Pilgrim, written by Bryan Lee O'Malley.
The hero has a crush on a girl named Ramona. Unfortunately, before he has a date with her, he will have to beat her seven ex-boyfriends.
Mechanics
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is a classically realized beat'em up, inspired by arcade classics of this genre. While playing, we move to the right side of the screen and eliminate hordes of enemies using a purely arcade combat system.
Apart from Scott Pilgrim himself, there are several other characters to choose from, including Ramona, Kim Pine and Stephen Stills. During the game we can also unlock an additional warrior named NegaScott. In addition, there are two characters, Knives Chau and Wallace Wells, who were introduced in the original using the DLCs.
Each of these heroes has a unique fighting style and its own attack repertoire. The characters' abilities can be developed by gathering experience points. It is also possible to use weapons and elements of the environment, which allows, for example, to hit someone with a chair.
Defeated enemies drop coins, which are used to buy items to heal wounds and provide useful bonuses during combat. The gameplay is varied by battles with bosses, mini-games and additional special levels, called Subspace, providing the opportunity to gain additional currency.
Game modes
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition allows you to play alone or in a co-op mode where, in addition to fighting together, players can revive defeated comrades, share items and lead joint combos.
The game also allows you to unlock bonus game modes, activated by cheat codes. In this way, we can, among other things, face hordes of zombies in survival skirmishes, try our hand at battle royale and fight one boss after another in Boss Rush.
Technical aspects
The game offers an attractive two-dimensional graphic design. It is made in a large-pixel retro style, but the character and location designs are designed to be true to the comic book's original.
