Sayonara Wild Hearts Description
Sayonara Wild Hearts is an arcade game, characterized by an unusual style and atmosphere. Music and pop culture play an important role in the title. There are also references to mysticism, more specifically to tarot cards. Independent studio Simogo (creator of Year Walk) is responsible for the creation of this title. The publishing was taken care of by Annapurna Interactive.
Plot
When a young woman's heart is broken, the universe falls out of balance. In her dreams a diamond butterfly appears, which leads her through the highway in the sky, where she finds herself: a masked cyclist, i.e. the fool straight from the deck of tarot cards.
Mechanics
Sayonara Wild Hearts offers intensive gameplay, which consists of moving around the locations (on foot, as well as using vehicles - e.g. motorcycles) and combat. The pace of the game is very fast - we are actually constantly in motion - and the combat system is completely arcade (we launch projectiles and wave our weapons in real-time). The devs have prepared a wide range of varied maps, including deserts, forests and futuristic cities. During the game, we also encounter many strange characters, each of whom is tied to a tarot card.
Game modes
Sayonara Wild Hearts can only be played alone.
Technical aspects
Sayonara Wild Hearts features unusual three-dimensional visuals. Although from a technological point of view the game may not be very impressive (neither the character models nor the locations impress with the level of detail), the unique artistic style can surely be liked. Importantly, Nintendo Switch offers smooth gameplay in 60 fps (regardless of whether we play mobile or on TV). The game is accompanied by an eclectic soundtrack, using various musical genres.
