Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena is the first installment of a series of "hidden objects" adventures by MumboJumbo development studio. The player directs the actions of the title archaeologist who, together with her assistants, tries to find the 6 roses of Athens and, with their help, reconstruct the mythical shield of the goddess.

Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena, released on PC and NDS, is the first joint venture between John Newcomer and the MumboJumbo development team. This time, the designer of the cult platformer Joust (1982) decided to work on "hidden objects" adventure game.

Plot

The main character of the game, the titular Samantha Swift, is a young archaeologist, who together with two of her companions - Adam Woodson and Dr. Norwynn Butler - follows a great discovery. By exploring ancient excavations, she finds a trace of Athena's mythical shield. To unravel the ancient mystery, she has to find six roses belonging to the goddess (art, justice, diligence, victory, skills, and wisdom) scattered all over the world. The task is complicated by the fact that the greedy treasure hunter Raven Stryker and her employer Markus Payne are also interested in finding them....
