The character of the young archaeologist Samanta Swift - the main character of Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena's game - appealed so much to the players that the developers from Mumbo Jumbo studio decided to prepare another portion of her adventures.
In Samantha Swift and the Golden Touch, the title character follows in the footsteps of the scroll of wealth which, according to legend, belonged to Alexander the Great. The brave archaeologist, however, does not realize that every step of her steps is closely followed by the members of the secret brotherhood, and the search for traces of the distant past will allow her to discover the mystery of the golden touch of the mythical king Midas.
Creators describe their game as a casual adventure, which is reflected in the mechanics of the game. Challenges faced by players in subsequent locations (e.g. Ireland, Morocco and the Caribbean) are a mix of puzzles such as "hidden objects", logic puzzles and arcade mini-games. Despite the relatively low level of difficulty, the game offers about 5-6 hours of entertainment, which is much longer than the first part of the cycle.
In comparison to competing productions, Samantha Swift and the Golden Touch stands out with its comic book style of graphic binding with handmade drawings. The whole aesthetic experience is complemented by a pleasant, yet non-imposing soundtrack.
