For many years, the moon served as a huge research facility for the people of Earth. It was here that the greatest scientists carried out experiments in all possible fields. Unfortunately, one day a great tragedy happened - a group of crazy terrorists mastered a complex in which new weapons were developed. The crisis situation could not be underestimated. The first shuttle to the Moon was the best of the veterans of numerous wars - a one-man unit designed to eliminate all threats - a commando named Rooster.

The first contact with Rooster almost immediately brings to mind one of the most famous Team 17 products called Alien Breed. Polish programmers from the TSA studio were strongly inspired by the above mentioned title, creating a clone of classic shooting, offering a view from above. Unfortunately, despite numerous similarities, Rooster does not offer playability at the level of the original. The biggest drawback of the program is the boredom accompanying the wandering of the lunar complex, which, although large (four successive stages are even huge), is irritated by the color tonality maintained in the same colors. The game boils down to finding teleports that allow you to move to another part of the database and the extermination of the robots wandering here and there. There are definitely fewer opponents than in Alien Breed, which does not have a positive effect on the spontaneity of the action. The authors also did not try to introduce limited ammunition and door keys. Most of the passages in the Rooster are open, only from time to time you need to press the button allowing you to open the closed door to the next part of the complex. In addition to the standard weapon, which, by the way, does not make a greater desolation among enemies, rockets are also available. The player can move them according to his own vision and shoot at them in order to cause an explosion. Compared to the rich arsenal available in Alien Breed, this issue in Rooster looks exceptionally pale. The charm of bitterness is filled with the fact that the programme is advertised as a traditional shooting.

During the mission you should of course avoid contact with your opponents, as they take up valuable energy. From time to time we will encounter special crystals, which allow us to replenish the lost vitality. Playing is not particularly difficult as long as we remember to keep a safe distance between the hero and the approaching enemy. This is another disadvantage - in Alien Breed, the player could never be sure that the passage through the empty corridor is safe - the aliens could appear behind their backs at the least expected moment....
