Rocksmith is a special installment of a series of music games under the same title, known from consoles and PC. The title was released on iPad only and developed by Ubisoft, a company responsible for the Assassin's Creed series, among others.

Mechanics

At first sight it may seem that Rocksmith is a clone of Guitar Hero, but that's just a pretence. Both series do not have much in common (except for the notes falling down the screen), because Ubisoft's series is a kind of training program, whose task is not only to ensure good fun but above all to teach guitar playing. In Guitar Hero the gameplay is focused on pure entertainment.

To have fun you need a real guitar, which you connect to the device. The game resembles the aforementioned Guitar Hero series as it consists of jerking the strings at the appropriate moments, which are signaled by notes moving across the screen. Rocksmith imitates real guitar playing, so it is also more advanced. To learn individual songs, you just need to train. For this purpose, a number of video lessons have been prepared (in the basic version there are as many as 80 lessons for 4 works) and other systems supporting learning. For example, the difficulty level dynamically scales to our abilities, increasing or facilitating the task. We can also focus only on a given fragment of the song, or set various parameters, e.g. speed.

All this makes Rocksmith accessible to everyone - people just starting to learn playing the guitar can learn the basics, more experienced musicians learn new techniques, and advanced musicians will quickly learn covers of individual songs.

Other

Rocksmith was available for free and offers only a few songs in this version. Other songs need to be bought from a rich catalog, which is constantly updated. It contains various hits from bands such as Weezer, OutKast, Queen and Jackson 5.
