A sequel to the two-dimensional platform game released by Ratloop Asia in 2011. The story of Rocketbirds 2: Evolution takes place once again in an alternative reality in which birds became the dominant species. During the game player assumes the role of agent Hardboiled Chicken, the protagonist of the previous entry in the series. Once again he is trying to stop the evil Putzki who is attempting to take over the world.

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution, available on PS4, PC and PSV, is a continuation of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken released in 2011 by Ratloop Asia studio. Both games were developed by the same developer and released digitally.

Plot

The game is set in an alternative reality where birds are the dominant sepecies. We play as Hardboiled Chicken - a super-agent trying to stop the evil Putzky, who wants to control the whole world.

Mechanics

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution doesn't make much changes to the mechanics introduced in the first game. The game is a 2D platformer focused primarily on shooting. The levels are filled with various enemies. Rocketbirds 2: Evolution offers more weapons than the first game - Hardboiled Chicken can use various rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers etc. Of course, combat isn't the only focus here - we can explore the rooms in search of hidden objects and artifacts.

Game modes

Besides the story campaign, Rocketbirds 2: Evolution, available on PS4, PC and PSV, also offers a completely new Rescue Mode, where we team up with four players (online and offline) and set off on a rescue mission. Our goal is to rescue hostages imprisoned by the enemy.

Technical aspects

The graphics in Rocketbirds 2: Evolution does not differ much from what we saw in Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. Naturally, the game looks a bit better, and the individual locations are more diverse and feel more polished, but there aren't many big changes.
