Rock 'N Roll Racing is another Blizzard classic who has decided to move to the Nintendo console. This well-known company in past was responsible for the release of this game. Rock 'N Roll Racing in 1993 appeared on the popular SNES at that time. The GameBoy Advance version does not introduce any revolutionary changes to the gameplay, offering only slightly improved graphics and a bit of re-modeled control, adjusted to a small number of GameBoy Advance buttons. Mass Media is again responsible for the preparation of the conversion, which also took care of the development of such classics as The Lost Vikings or Blackthorne.
The gameplay assumptions are relatively simple. Our task is to complete several laps of the currently selected route. There are a few other competitors in the race, on which we have to be careful, because there is a possibility of using different types of weapons. It is this factor that distinguishes Rock 'N Roll Racing from many other racers of the genre. It should be noted, however, that there is no possibility of complete loss from the race, although participation in too many skirmishes may rule out the chances of winning. The player must therefore seek a compromise between flawless driving and eliminating the most serious competitors from the race.
The single player campaign offers quite a standard career mode. We start the game behind the wheel of a weakly armored buggy type vehicle. However, as you earn more trophies, you get money that can be spent on new vehicles or on upgrades to existing vehicles. These include better cannons, rocket launchers, and devices that can leave mines on the road. In the further part of the game there is an opportunity to buy new means of transport, including perfectly armored tanks. Visually, the game looks quite good. The routes are shown in isometric projection. There were also interestingly performed music pieces, prepared in midi format. Rock 'N Roll Racing has quite a standard multiplayer for two people. Players can only take part in one-on-one duels.
