Rock Free is a browser-based free game where you can create your own rock music character. Acclaim, one of the pioneers in the electronics industry, is responsible for developing and releasing online games for many users (e.g. 2Moons, The Chronicles of Spellborn).

In Rock Free we play the role of a beginner rock musician, who has an international career open to him. Of course, in order to do this we must first of all become a virtuoso of the electric guitar. The basis is also the appropriate appearance. Our avatar can be freely chosen, adding various accessories to it as well. In addition to creating the character itself, you also get the option to open your own rock club, where, alone or together with friends, we practice a variety of songs and, of course, we fight rock duels. It is also possible to visit clubs of other players.

The title is fully supported by a web browser, but unlike many games of this type, it is not limited only to static windows and tables. Rock Free offers neat animations and, above all, the possibility of playing virtual guitar. In addition to the club and practice mode, we can also browse the world rankings and take part in various tournaments.

Playing the tracks was realized similarly as in other well-known music games. So we observe five moving lines symbolizing guitar strings. Our task is to press the keys from 1-5 at the right moment, while constantly using the arrows. In addition, there is a special FanPower indicator, which fills up when we don't make mistakes. Activating the power of FanPower we get additional bonuses for each well-played note.

The product was created in cooperation with such music corporations as Warner Music, Sony, EMI and WaveGroup. The last of the swap companies is recording well-known songs for music games and has already worked on the Guitar Hero series, for example. Cooperation with the above mentioned labels guarantees the presence of many well-known songs in Rock Free. Among them we can mention such songs as: Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Fat Lip performed by Sum 41, or Woman recorded by Wolfmother.
