Rock Band Blitz is a music game being a part of the popular series created by Harmonix. It is a kind of a spin-off available exclusively via digital distribution. In many aspects it is reminiscent of the first productions by the talented developer. Before the Harmonix studio became famous thanks to the Rock Band series, it created such games as Frequency or Amplitude. These are the titles that the discussed production resembles in some respects.

In the game, we switch between several tracks corresponding to the individual instruments in a given song. When the signs on a track come to the bottom of the screen, the player presses the appropriate button on the pad and can also use power-ups in the process. In this way, the music plays. In contrast to the previous installments in the series, Rock Band Blitz does not use plastic instruments. Instead, the game utilizes pads which greatly resembles Amplitude.

The game contains 25 songs by various artists and bands such as Rick Springfield (Jesse's Girl), Quiet Riot (Bang Your Head), Blink-182 (Always), or Foster the People (Pumped Up Kicks). Interestingly, all of them may also be used in Rock Band 3. This compatibility feature also works the other way around and the songs downloaded in the previous games can be also used in Rock Band Blitz. Thanks to that, players can maintain an adequate variety of songs played, so that even after many hours of gameplay, the game does not have to become boring.

Graphic design is simple, but clear and fulfills its purpose. Most of the time we see only a few melodious tracks that we have to overcome. There are different elements of the environment in the background, usually in the form of illuminated buildings, but it is hard to pay any attention to that during gameplay, because the whole focus must be utilized to properly play the selected track. The results can be also compared with the results of the players from all over the world thanks to extensive ranking system.

Below is the list of the tracks in the game:

 The All-American Rejects - Kids in the Street
