Rising Storm Description
Rising Storm for PC is a standalone expansion for first-person shooter Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad. It lets players experience the extremely brutal and bloody campaign that took place on the Pacific islands in the years 1942-1945. As you play you take part in military landings on beaches, struggles in labyrinths of caves and shootouts in lavish jungles – all that in historical locations, such as Corregidor Island, Guadalcanal or Iwo Jima.
The game’s developers prepared two playable sides of the conflict. There is a full-fledged story-based campaign for the American Army and Marine Corps as well as the Imperial Army and their Special Naval Landing Forces. Rising Storm also features expansive co-op mode and, obviously, online multiplayer.
Just like it was in the original game, the developers of Rising Storm prepared several interesting new features for the multiplayer. Among these the especially noteworthy is the ability to promote your soldier to a Hero status. Available for the most experienced players, Hero grants access to the most rare weapons and gear and makes your soldier stand out visually on the battlefield.
Rising Storm for PC is powered by a modified version of Unreal Engine 3, thus offering realistic and visually attractive environments. Much care for detail is also evident in the representation of World War II weapons – not only visually but also when it comes to ballistics, bullet penetration or zooming in with scopes.
