Developed by Tripware Interactive in cooperation with Antimatter Games, an FPS which is a continuation to Rising Storm. As the title suggests, the action takes place in Vietnam, where you assume the roles of American or Vietnamese soldiers. The mechanics do not differ considerably from those in the previous installment and once again emphasize realism.
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam published on PC is another production by Tripware Interactive, known for e.g. the Killing Floor series. This time the developers are aided by Antimatter Games. The new title is a continuation of Rising Storm from 2013.
As the title suggests, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam for PC is a shooter set during the notorious conflict in Asia. Players are in control of two enemy sides – the USA (regular army and marines) and Vietnam, represented by North Vietnamese Army and Vietcong.
The foundations of the Rising Storm 2: Vietnam’s gameplay are the same as in the previous instalment, which means that we are dealing with a realistic first-person shooter. However, because of the change in setting, the realities are also changed. The sky is reigned by helicopters, aboundant tunnels are full of traps, and machine guns are the main weapon. Soldiers of each side differ not only in their fighting technique, but also in equipment. The game introduces new units system – players can create new units, while the commanders have authority to block and dismiss other players from the team, invite new ones, name the team, etc. Members of your team are rewarded for their efforts on the battlefield, which do not concern only killing, but also supporting teammates. After a match, the game presents a scoreboard that also shows the ranking of your squad’s members.
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam for PC introduces multiplayer up to 64 players.

Rising Storm 2 is next up in the Red Orchestra series, bringing the fight into Vietnam. With this I want to clarify that this is not a brand new installment in the franchise but more like a standalone expansion pack. It brings period weapons, equipment and vehicles into a Red Orchestra setting. Rising Storm 2 features 2 factions with 2 sub groups in each, the USMC, US Army, NVA, and Viet Cong forces. With the amount of factions, I did expect a few more gear options, here I found a small lack in gearing choices. I would have liked a few more weapons and choices here. The game also offers you cosmetic choices in the form of clothing options, camo, helmets, tattoos and more. This adds a nice touch and can create some awesome looking squads and teams.
